Anneli Stockwell is a British singer based in Cambridgeshire, UK.
Anneli completed her A Levels (including Music) at Long Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge in 1993 attended Bretton Hall University College, Wakefield to complete a Diploma in Music in 1994. Anneli studied flute to Grade 8 level and began singing on stage from the age of 11.
In 1995 Anneli started work as a club promoter in local nightclubs booking DJ’s and live music acts. Anneli worked with ex Fame Academy stars Lemar and Pippa and dance music act Lasgo.
Additionally she represented Cream, Liverpool booking events across East Anglia.
In 2004 Anneli made a conscious decision to get back to her own performing career and joined cover’s bands to gain live experience. Also securing a daytime role with with Lockup Music Publishing as a Telephone Plugger which allowed her to gain an insight into music publishing and promotion. During her time with LMP Anneli released 2 EP’s on the Mirador Record Label, promoting the records in Ibiza. In the weekday evenings Anneli attended Bodyworks Dance School, Cambridge to learn street jazz and modern jazz dance skills.
In 2005 Anneli joined Music Sales Ltd, Bury St Edmunds as an Account Manager and set up her own Abba tribute under the name Abba Queens, performing at the weekends.
By 2007 Abba Queens had grown in popularity and Anneli left her day job to be a full-time entertainer. Abba Queens toured the UK, Corfu and Spain, undertaking a variety of bookings including corporate functions, open air festivals and theatres. Anneli grew in confidence as a performer and learnt how to entertain an audience on a variety of platforms.
In 2010 Anneli set up a Carpenters tribute show with a live band touring a number of theatres. It was at this time that Anneli recognised a particular strength in the lower register in her voice.
In 2011 Anneli entered Venture Radio’s Artist Of The Year with her Carpenters demo and was placed 6th in the competition. In the same year she was invited to take part in Britain’s Got Talent but was asked to appear in costume and her wishes were to appear without costume as a vocalist in her own right.
In 2012 Anneli appeared on Sky Atlantic’s Devil’s Dinner Party and played the role of a diner at the table.
Later in 2012 Anneli cast and produced a Michael Jackson tribute show Got To Be Michael and the first booked show was at Cambridge Corn Exchange. Anneli hoped to take the show on tour however due to copyright implications the show was shelved.
In 2015 Anneli applied to various listings on Star Now and was invited to meetings with Media Box Studio’s, Birmingham and BMU, London. Both companies requested original material in order to take things forward and Anneli realised the need to find good original songs.
In 2016 Anneli focused on promoting herself to record labels and management companies. Anneli spends time at LMP studios in Cambridge recording demo’s and co-producing tracks.
In September 2016 Anneli attended audition at EBA Records in Castleford and was recalled for second audition. Anneli narrowly missed securing a recording contract only held back by the fact she had no dedicated fan base. After realising the skills of Paul Twohig as a songwriter Anneli licensed two original songs from him and recorded them in his studio over the next few months.
In August 2017 Anneli met once again with Paul for further discussion about her career. Paul decided to enter an agreement with Anneli to custom-write two further singles offering a 50% investment on 3 singles over an 18 month period. Furthermore Paul agreed that if Anneli could achieve 500 downloads over that period he will sign Anneli to EBA Records on an official recording contract.
In June 2018 Anneli signed a recording contract with Brett Wild/Divertido Recordings for the release of a deep house track called ‘Let Me Love You’ written and produced by Toby Farrugia. There will be an acoustic and tech house remix and the original track will feature on compilation album ‘Sounds Of Summer’.
In 2018 Anneli was nominated as best solo female for the NMG Awards following airplay on BBC Introducing with debut single ‘Say You Want Me’. Anneli attended the awards ceremony at The Apex Bury St Edmunds in September 2018.

For many years, Anneli has worked regularly with Dr David Greaves of Lockup Music Publishing Ltd. David acts as a mentor and co-producer and works with Anneli in the LMP studio.
